Arai helmet recall

Finally sent in my helmet for the recall. Started reading the paperwork and just had to take the helmet and the coupon to UPS. They handled the rest.

Today got an email at 12:07PM saying they had not yet recieved my helmet and that the free shipping portion of the deal expired on the 29th. At 12:57PM I recieved an email from Arai containing my UPS tracking number for the helmet being shipped back to me. Hmmm. Is this left hand right hand stuff?

My Helimot Gloves

They sent me a brand new pair. Have only been able to wear them two days so far. Back of the hand padding is bigger. Gauntlet seems thicker. I really like these gloves but the point of failure last time doesn't seem any thicker. It's a sweat point and a stich point. Both reasons for failure. I'll have them at the Gather.

Have the Forums disappeared or is it just me?

Unintended Consequences

I decided to replace my main hard drive as a preventative measure. I have had hard drives fail before, usually around 2-3 years. Using Drive Image went to image the drive. Was going to take 18 hours or so. After 30 minutes stopped it. Realized the CD was dropping the bus to its speed. Unplugged it and started over. Left it overnight. Unfortunately, that was the wrong drive. So started the correct drive. Drive Image fails. Turns out I have Norton GoBack on my boot drive but didn't know it at the time. Nothing I am aware of will image this drive but I don't know that yet.

Have DI scan the drive and it finds an error it can fix. Stupidly I say yes. Bye bye partition. Well, except the GoBack partition. Happily go for the GoBack button. Not sure what good GoBack is cause this is one thing it won't GoBack. Great. I've just lost my taxes, Money file, pictures, mail file, blah, blah, blah.

Performance

Expectations, confidence, and performance.

In June I went to Roseburg for a match. I was entered in two classes. One of the goals is to shoot fast but also be accurate. Your time is your score. If you are not accurate time gets added to your final score.

I shot the first stage and had a D (+3 seconds) and a couple of C's (+1 second). Continued to the next two stages and just didn't think I had it. Last year I was 5th and 2nd and felt good doing it. I had practiced almost two straight weeks for this.

Afterwards I shuffled back to the Jeep and started adding up my scores. I had to add them 4 times because these scores were very good. Contrary to how I felt I had actually improved my scores in both classes by 10-15 points from the previous year. That led to a 1st and a 2nd.
