Doggie Pic/Drop shadow

A friend of mine from PDX sent me this photo of his dog Mya. I cropped it a bit tighter and applied a wee bit of shadow/highlight adjustment. Mya I also applied a drop shadow using PS. If anyone is interested, here are the basic, very simple steps. Go to the layers function and duplicate the original photo. You should have the layers tool showing. Create a totally new file that is bigger than the photo file. You can crop it later. Drag the new photo layer onto the new file and position. In the layers function, select drop shadow and create one. Play with the parameters. In layers, flatten the image, crop, draw a border if you want and save. I'm positive the other programs do this in a similar fashion. --Terry

Thanks for the tip Terry

BTW, did you know that you can easily embed photos and/or links into posts here? The toolbar above the Comment editing window has buttons for "Insert/Edit Link" and "Insert/Edit Image."

Sure, we know how to C/P URLs, but the beauty of a forum is that we shouldn't have to Money mouth

Insert/Edit Image

Sure, I can do that. So when I click on the icon, it wants the URL. I need to upload the image to WL first and then embed it in the post? I must have missed the instructions on that. --Terry

Just drop in your URL

There's no need to upload anything to the forum.  Just click the Insert/Edit Image button (the tree in the upper left part of the toolbar) and then enter your pic's URL into the Image URL field.

Testing

Testing....took this photo last night. The gecko backed off. --Terry
