So quiet. I see this idea is going well

Before going to Hawaii in September I wanted to upgrade me D50.  I ended up with the D300.  A friend had got one so I did get to handle it.  I am still loving the camera.  The bigger back screen is amazing.  Another reason for the upgrade was I needed more than the 1600iso the D50 was affording me.  I also had gotten a 50mm F1.4 for the same reason.  I am taking pictures in unevenly light gyms. Was getting disappointed in the results.  Recently found one improvement called auto iso.  I found that I could set the camera to Manual at 1/500 and F1.8 and, depending upon the gym, get iso 1000 to 2400.  I had been setting it to iso 3200 and experimenting with Shutter and Aperture modes.  Better but still not perfect.  I went to the Sherwood tournament and brought my 80-200mm F2.8 lense.  I wanted to try 80mm.  I had to go to 3200iso and drop the shutter speed but it told me enough that my new 85mm F1.8 gets her today.  Looking forward to using it in a game. Kind of connected is that I took the team photos this year.  They requested 8x10 head shots.  After doing the PP and printing they discovered they didn't actually WANT head shots.  Another rushed photo session, PP, and printing.  They seem to like these.  Didn't help the PP of the first shoot pointed out problems on my computer that caused me to upgrade it and so actually didn't have a computer while doing the second photo shoot.  No pressure otherwise
