Ingredients:1 onion
2-4 cloves garlic
2 c broth (I use chicken bullion)
1/2 c lentils
2-3 tsp curry powder
ground cayenne to taste
Preparation:Chop the onion. Chop the garlic. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry
the onion and garlic until limp. Add the broth, lentils and spices.
Simmer for about an hour, or until the lentils are tender.
Notes:As always, adjust seasoning to taste. I've used as much as an entire
head of garlic with good results. Last time I made it, I got a little
excited with the cayenne bottle and left my mouth feeling seared the
next day. This is loosely based on a recipe from "The Women's Day
Encyclopedia of Cooking".
