| Ingredients: | 4 c rolled oats 4 c water 2 c water 1 c honey 2 c cream or half & half 4 c scotch or irish whiskey or bourbon or whatever really... | ||
| Preparation: | Mix oats and 4 cups water in a bowl and let sit over night. In the morning: add two cups of water and let sit for 4 hours or so. STRAIN the oats out and DISCARD the oats. What works best is to put the oats in a strainer, after the soak, and let them drip. Then put them in a cheese cloth and squeeze any moisture out of the oats and discard. Mix with remainder of ingredients and put it in the fridge. It'll keep for a couple of months, but starts to look ugly when it separates. Just shake it up before anyone sees it. Also don't use really smoky or peaty scotch. I find the cheapest is some of the best. | ||
