Before going to Hawaii in September I wanted to upgrade me D50. I ended up with the D300. A friend had got one so I did get to handle it. I am still loving the camera. The bigger back screen is amazing. Another reason for the upgrade was I needed more than the 1600iso the D50 was affording me. I also had gotten a 50mm F1.4 for the same reason. I am taking pictures in unevenly light gyms.
Willamette vs Sherwood
I would have prefered to have a place for the player on the right to walk to but there was an out of focus back of coaches head I had to crop.

or if it works
Marshfield has just lost two games by buzzer beaters. They led this game until the last minute. Willamette steals the ball and sets up for the last shot. Miss, rebound, miss, rebound, whistle for a shooting foul just before the buzzer. Making this shot won the game. I like the crowds involvement. Pensive guy in the front row is the Marshfield AD. Off camera right is the coach stomping for all she is worth in the middle of the jump circle. After the shot the AD would have to peel her off the referee. Unfortunately, I did not take those shots.
Thinking of getting 2.x doubler for the Canon. I know I am gonna lose a full f-stop.
My 100-400 lens that is f4-5.6 will get "slower".
I wonder if it will still let me get those race track shots..
Any experiences Yea or Nay with doublers?
Thanks
This is a fantastic and scary link:

The big guys (B&H/J&R/Adorama/Abes of Maine, etc) are competing with known scam artists.
Be very careful where you choose to buy your gear. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Here's a great resource:

Just sayin'
See if this works. It's been so quiet here. I have been taking a lot of basketball shots. Mostly High School but here was just at the UO v California women's game. Hampton was last years Pac-10 player of the year.
If you have the coin. $1.5 billion, give or take.

Hello all -
My wife has gone back to school to get degrees in Art and Art History. She has applied for a grant to do a three week study abroad program in Mongolia this summer focusing on digital photography of women in Mongolia. She hasn't taken any photography classes yet and will need a decent digital SLR for the class.
