Before going to Hawaii in September I wanted to upgrade me D50. I ended up with the D300. A friend had got one so I did get to handle it. I am still loving the camera. The bigger back screen is amazing. Another reason for the upgrade was I needed more than the 1600iso the D50 was affording me. I also had gotten a 50mm F1.4 for the same reason. I am taking pictures in unevenly light gyms.
If you have the coin. $1.5 billion, give or take.

Hello all -
My wife has gone back to school to get degrees in Art and Art History. She has applied for a grant to do a three week study abroad program in Mongolia this summer focusing on digital photography of women in Mongolia. She hasn't taken any photography classes yet and will need a decent digital SLR for the class.
I got the latest issue of American Photo last night. Was in a baggy case it included an advertisement. It was a 20"x30" double-sided poster ad for the new Nikon D3. On one side is a collage of D3s making some kind of star. On the other is a shot of motorcyclists at a race track. A smaller cropped version in the back cover of AP. It's at the edge of the track using the 18mm-24mm lense. The lead rider just about fills the frame. Has his knee down with a slider throwing sparks. In the background he is being chased by two Kawasaki 600s, a Honda, and some others. If
