Ingredients: | 16 oz heavy whipping cream (unsweetened) or Half and Half
2 tsp sage 3 tsp finely chopped garlic black pepper chopped parsley 3 finely chopped Jalapenos (or your favorite hot pepper) 2 c fresh Parmesan finely grated cheese (right off the block) (the dried cheese in the can would be a travesty) 1/2 c of TVP (textured vegetable protein) (Fred Meyers carries this in their health food section) |
||
Preparation: | Slowly heat the whipping cream in a sauce pan. DO NOT BOIL!
Once warm/hot, add in the sage, garlic, pepper, parsley and 1/2 of the chopped Jalepeno. Add in the TVP and stir for a short time (minute or so), then slowly add enough Parmesan cheese to reach the thickness you desire. Serve over pasta or rice. |
||
Notes: | TVP is a great protein source, absorbs flavor from the sauce, and adds a nice texture. | ||
