Ingredients:A lot of green beans from the garden
Preparation:Blanch by boiling 1-1/2 min. I prefer steam blanching since my stove is
wimpy, and it's hard to keep water at the full boil when adding bunches of
cool stuff. Steam blanch 2-3 minutes, and do the same as above.

or-

Steam blanch the whole beans till crisp-tender, cool in cold water, pat
dry, and dip in ranch dressing or drizzle with a nice vinegarette.

or-

If they get a bit long in tooth, string, chop, and simmer in water or
broth, for an hour or so along with a slice or two of crispy bacon. Toss in the
actual seeds from the overmature beans, too. Serious old time comfort
food.
