Name:Salsa de Tomatillos y Aguacates Contributor:Brian Williams
Description:tomatillo/avocado sauce Posted:2006-11-02

Ingredients:4-5 medium tomatillos
1 medium avocado, peeled and pitted
Cilantro
Juice of 1 lime
Salt
Pepper
1 serrano pepper
Preparation:Peel the husks off of the tomatillos and rinse well. Place them in a small sauce pan and just cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil and cook the tomatillos until they soften - about 4-5 minutes.

Toss the tomatillos into a blender and add the avocado. Blend until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients to your liking. I use about 1-1/2 cloves of garlic, a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, and half of a serrano.
Notes:I use this with the normal tomato sauce to make tortas. If you like avocados and tomatillos as much as I do, you might just need a straw.
